A Concise Dictionary of New Zealand Sign Language is the essential guide to the language for the Deaf, for students, parents and teachers. It contains about 2500 commonly used signs. The drawings by Shaun Fahey are easy to follow; a new layout makes the structure of the language very clear. Additional learning tools are provided in the introduction.

The publication of A Concise Dictionary of New Zealand Sign Language continues the commitment that the Deaf Studies Unit at Victoria University and BWB are making to the language and its accessibility. The language was first described only in the last decade, when the Dictionary of New Zealand Sign Language project at Victoria University collected and analysed over 4000 signs for inclusion in the comprehensive Dictionary of New Zealand Sign Language published in 1997, and now out of print.
