Based on the Spitfire it is a single place, low wing composite aircraft using modern composite construction methods. With a Jabiru 80 hp, 4 cylinder engine the Silence has optional electric flaps, undercarriage and an innovative constant speed propellor. The Silence is available as a factory complete aircraft or customer-built kit. Construction is a mixture of Nomex Honeycomb with glass, aramid and carbon laminates in epoxy. In the kit version the fuselage, flying and control surfaces are largely complete, so the builder is not faced with completing complex shapes. Silence provides a number of options which include electric retracting undercarriage and flap operation, advanced constant speed propellor, ballistic recovery parachute system and much more. |
